Bright Ideas released two different types of spiral notebooks in the 1980s...small, pocket-sized MEMO BOOKS and larger (letter-sized) THEME BOOKS

MEMO BOOK DETAILS:

  • MADE BY: The Garbage Pail Kids Memo Books were produced and released by Bright Ideas Inc.
  • MANUFACTURED IN: All Bright Ideas merchandise, including the Memo Books, were manufactured in Coatesville, PA
  • COPYRIGHT DATE: The copyright date on the Memo Books reads 1985
  • PRODUCT DIMENSIONS: Each Memo Book measures 3" x 5" (wxh) and contains 60 blank pages
  • COMPLETE SET: A complete set of Memo Books consists of 12 different books (six GPK characters with two name-variations each)

  • PRODUCT DIMENSIONS: The Theme Books come in two different variations (3-hole and 5-hole). The 3-hole measures 8 1/2" x 11" (wxh) and the 5-hole measures 8" x 10 1/2". Both sizes contain 50 blank pages
  • COMPLETE SET: A complete set of Theme Books consists of 8 different books (four GPK characters in two different sizes/binder-holes)

An interesting discovery was made while compiling the images for this page...there are VARIATIONS to the backs of the 5-hole Theme Books! Perhaps there are in fact EIGHT different 5-hole Theme Books (four characters with two different backs)? If this is true it would bump a complete set to a total of 12 different Theme Books!!
