  • INFORMATION: The Garbage Pail Kids Classic online exclusive set (2017 Topps On-Demand Set #8) was a strange break from the previous online releases from Topps. Sold under the 'On Demand' banner the set was advertised as a return to 'classic' gags and artwork. Reviews were mixed on whether or not that goal was achieved, but most everyone agreed that the intent was a step in the right direction (no politics!). All artwork for the set was completed by Brent Engstrom and Joe Simko.

A big question with this set is the inclusion of a random sketch card with every set purchased. A total of 32 artists were comissioned to submit 28 sketches for this release, which resulted in 896 sketch cards completed. When you compare this number to the somewhat paltry sets sold it begs the question "What happened to all those sketches??" Only time will tell if they turn up in another release, but hopefully Topps has a plan that includes something other than the trash can.
The set was available for a limited time and could only be purchased directly from the Topps website
  • PRINT RUN: According to information released on the Topps blog, the release sold a total of 156 SETS
